Wilber is a 10-month-old Chihuahua mix who weighs just 5 pounds. This tiny little guy came to us from a local shelter after being rescued from a hoarding case. He was one of 30 dogs who had spent much of his life confined to a crate, arriving at the shelter frightened and covered in urine and feces.

Since settling into foster care, Wilber has made incredible progress. With lots of love, good nutrition, medicated baths, and gentle care, his skin is healing, his coat is looking better, and he's learning to trust the people around him. Every day he becomes a little braver and a little more confident as he discovers what it means to be safe and loved.

Wilber has the sweet, loyal personality Chihuahuas are known for, along with a playful little spark that shines brighter every day. At just 5 pounds, he'll remain a wonderfully tiny companion who is happiest close to his people.

Several of Wilber's siblings, along with what may be his mother and other dogs from the same hoarding case, were also rescued and are thriving in foster homes. We're incredibly grateful to our local shelter for stepping in, giving these dogs the care they so desperately needed, and helping them begin their journey to better lives.

Now Wilber is ready for his happily ever after. He's looking for a patient, loving family who will continue to help him build confidence while showering him with affection.
