IN 2021, WE launchED this spay & neuter fund in honor of our dear friend…

We want to carry on Valerie's mission and wishes to provide free spay and neuter to dogs in need, especially in harder hit areas of California. Valerie spent over 20 years of her life dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need -she was a huge force in the dog rescue community and taught us so much. Sadly, Valerie passed away from COVID-19 and left behind so many people and dogs who love her dearly.

As part of our mission when we founded Beyond Rescue was to go beyond just rescuing dogs. We know that the problem is deeper rooted -- that no matter how many dogs we take in, there are a hundred more who need to be saved that day. We decided we would also focus a lot of our efforts on helping the communities in need - we knew offering free spay and neuter was a very important piece of that goal.

Since we launched this fund, we have been able to sponsor FIVE spay and neuter clinics, provide vaccines and dog food to so many pups in need. We focused on Modesto and Salinas, CA which are two very underserved communities in desperate need.

This program means less dogs who will have accidental litters, more dogs who are now safe from diseases that could kill them and many dogs not going hungry. We are so grateful to be able to do this work -- but it wouldn't be possible without all the donations that come in.
