1 year old • 45 pounds • Gentle German Shepherd mix with a soft, steady nature

Thor is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing about 45 pounds. He was originally rescued from a shelter in California’s Central Valley, where he quickly became a staff favorite thanks to his calm, lovely temperament.

We are still getting to know him, but so far Thor is showing himself to be a gentle, sweet, and steady young dog. He has a medium energy level—active enough to enjoy playtime and daily walks, but not overwhelming or demanding. In foster care, he is beginning to come out of his shell and is starting to engage in play with his foster brother as his confidence grows.

Thor is also very affectionate and people-oriented. He is especially attentive to his foster mom and forms easy, soft connections with the people around him.

He is house-trained and walks nicely on leash, making him an easy companion for everyday life, outings, and continued training adventures.

As he continues to decompress and settle into safety, Thor is expected to keep blossoming into a loyal, well-rounded family dog. He’s the kind of dog who quietly grows on you—and then never leaves your side.
