Meet Sugar – the sweetest little pup you'll ever meet!

Sugar is a 4-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who’s as gentle as she is adorable. Currently weighing around 8–10 pounds, she’ll likely stay on the small side as she grows.

Sugar came to us from the Central Valley after arriving at a shelter with a badly swollen face—likely the result of a puncture wound that caused an abscess. Thankfully, after a round of antibiotics and some TLC, she’s healed up beautifully and feeling great!

This calm and affectionate girl is thriving in her foster home. She’s a little cautious when other dogs approach her too quickly (understandable given her past), but she’s coexisting well with the resident dogs and building her confidence. Like any young pup, Sugar has a silly, playful side—she loves her toys, her chewies, and making everyone laugh with her antics.

She’s doing wonderfully with crate training and is picking up potty training fast. Sugar will make a loving, loyal, and playful companion for someone ready to offer her the safe, happy home she deserves.
