Petunia is one of the prettiest Bulldogs we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming from a Central Valley shelter, and she arrived looking absolutely fantastic. Her weight is right where it should be, her coat is beautiful, and so far we haven’t seen any of the allergy issues that can sometimes come along with the Bulldog territory.

But what really makes Petunia special is her lovely disposition. She is friendly with everyone she meets and genuinely seems to believe that people are wonderful. She has that classic Bulldog combination of sweetness, personality, and a little bit of goofy charm. Bulldogs tend to have opinions about things, enjoy their creature comforts, and can be wonderfully funny, affectionate, and determined. Petunia has shown us a little of that Bulldog spirit, although so far she’s been remarkably easygoing and not at all interested in throwing her weight around.

We’re taking introductions with other dogs slowly and thoughtfully, as Bulldogs can sometimes be selective about their canine friends. So far, Petunia has done beautifully with every dog she has met, which is very encouraging. We’ll continue to give her time to get comfortable and learn more about what kind of canine companionship she enjoys.

Petunia would be a wonderful match for someone who already knows and loves Bulldogs, or for a family who has fallen in love with the breed and is ready to appreciate all the wonderful things that make a Bulldog a Bulldog. She’s affectionate, friendly, beautiful, and just an all-around lovely girl.

We’re pretty smitten with Petunia and think her forever family is going to be very lucky to call this beautiful Bulldog their own.
