GEORGE - FOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED

GEORGE - FOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED
George is the kind of dog who quietly finds his way into your heart and stays there. Our sweet boy is looking for a loving fospice home.
George has a heart murmur, and after undergoing a Balloon Valvuloplasty at UC Davis in October 2025, we were hopeful for a better outcome. Sadly, at his recheck in February 2026, we learned the procedure wasn’t successful, and his murmur is now in the severe range. After speaking with the cardiology team at UC Davis we do not think further surgeries would be successful.
What matters most is this: George doesn’t know any of that. He isn’t in pain. He isn’t suffering. He’s just a young, happy dog who still wants to play, explore, and be loved.
At around 2 years old and 37 pounds, George has so much life and sweetness to share. He loves wrestling and chasing with his foster siblings, though he takes a little time to feel comfortable with new dogs. Because of that, he’d do best as an only dog or with a calm, well-matched companion after slow introductions. No cats in the home with George, as he does have stronger play style.
Walks are one of his favorite things. He enjoys getting out for a stroll or a short jog. When something feels new or uncertain, he may pause and take it all in, but a few treats and a little encouragement help him move forward. He loves food, which makes him eager to learn.
George isn’t meant for busy dog parks or chaotic environments. What he really needs is a calm, steady adult only home where he can feel safe.
Caring for him is simple. He takes his pill medication twice a day with his meals without any fuss.
More than anything, George is incredibly loving. He’s cuddly, loyal, and forms deep bonds with his people. He’ll need a little time to adjust to a new home, but once he trusts you, he’ll be yours in the most genuine way. He’s potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and settles nicely when left alone.
We don’t know how much time George has. That’s the hardest part. But we do know that every day he has deserves to be filled with comfort, kindness, and love.
Beyond Rescue will continue to cover all of his medical care and supplies. All George needs is someone willing to open their heart and give him a soft place to land.
